Lifestyle
Our cottages look and feel much like the homes our residents have lived in most of their lives. Residents share living, dining room and great room space while having their own private room and bathroom. We designed the setting so residents help make cookies, set tables, and participate in games, cards or crafts. Exercise is promoted regularly through fun games which bring a smile to everyone's face. Residents can enjoy the luxury of a whirlpool bath, getting her hair styled or a foot massage.
Familiarity is security to persons with memory loss. Our staff dress in work casual as would other family members. We don't wear confusing uniforms. Interactions between residents are encouraged and we find they are very kind and supportive of each other. During warmer weather the cottage spaces expand to include our covered back patio with a calming water feature and our wicker furnished front screened porches. Fresh air and beautiful views support a calm, sunny and serene lifestyle.
Family visits and participation is an important part of daily life. Visitors, volunteers, and staff soon become familiar with and attached to each resident. It is a comfortable place to relax, unwind and visit with others.
